UPWARD, Inc. (Location: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Takehiro Kaneki, URL: https://upward.jp), which has the vision of "Innovating the Last One Mile of the Field," is pleased to announce that Masaki Ishida, who holds the shortest promotion record (at the time of enrollment) at Salesforce.com, has joined the company as CSO (Chief Sales Officer, Chief Sales Officer) on March 22, 2021.

UPWARD is a next-generation mobile SFA service used by approximately 300 companies, mainly large enterprises. It automatically acquires sales activities and telephone activity records on-site from smartphone applications, and supports the last one mile of mobile workers by providing features such as "easy visualization of customer status and visit activities," "easy creation of visit plans," and "easy input of visit records." With the appointment of the new CSO, we aim to further expand our business and enhance our ability to promote "DX of sales organizations" that is required in the with-corona era.
After graduating from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2009, joined Internet Securities Co., Ltd., a company listed on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange. After engaging in marketing and sales for new businesses in the in-house venture organization, he started his own business. In 2015, he joined Salesforce.com Co., Ltd. After serving as an Inside Sales, Account Executive, and Sales Manager, he was engaged as a Branch Manager. Subsequently, he was in charge of the enterprise area, mainly focusing on the automobile and high-tech industries at Slack Japan Co., Ltd., and joined UPWARD in March 2021.
Amidst the current DX trend, the sales tech market is expected to expand rapidly in the future. However, technology is meaningless unless it is easy for people in the field to use, and full utilization in the field is the biggest point. UPWARD is truly a solution that innovates that last one mile. I will leverage my experience to convey the value of UPWARD to more customers and do my best to build an organization that leads to success.
I am very pleased to welcome Masaki Ishida as our CSO. He shares our mission of "innovating the last one mile of the field" at a high level, and another like-minded colleague has joined our team. The appointment of Ishida as CSO stems from my desire to realize high-dimensional growth of the UPWARD business by leveraging his experience in executing GTM (go-to-market strategy) at global SaaS companies such as Salesforce.com and Slack, as well as his high team management skills that utilize individuality.
