Since the Corona disaster, UPWARD has been actively revising its work rules and creating mechanisms to enable remote work. As a result, employee productivity has greatly improved as they are no longer restricted by the location of their work. In addition, the company has been able to operate more from the customer's perspective, leading to an improved customer experience and a high service renewal rate of 99.0% (as of August 2022). The relocation of the headquarters office was decided in order to promote hybrid work between the office and remote locations, to embody UPWARD's vision of "Go Smarter, Anywhere, Work Comfortably Anywhere," and to take the initiative in realizing new ways of working.
WeWork was selected as the relocation site because it is an ideal environment for building a base of operations in major cities in Japan and abroad. In anticipation of further business expansion in the future, UPWARD needs more associates. In parallel with remote work to further increase the diversity of work styles, we believe it is also important to realize "collaborative work" in physical spaces (office locations) to encourage employees to feel loyalty (attachment) to the company and its business. In the future, we will make it possible to realize hybrid offline/online work for employees working anywhere in the world, and provide the highest level of collaborative work environment when working offline.
UPWARD also plans to establish satellite offices in major cities in Japan and Southeast Asia as it looks to expand overseas, particularly in the APAC region.
