Tosho, the top domestic share of curtain rail, introduces 영업 support service 'UPWARD'

Optimized mobile input for outside sales, resulting in approximately 60% increase in information input and halving of nighttime reports compared to the previous year.

UPWARD, Inc. (Location: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and CEO: Takatoshi Kaneki; hereinafter, "UPWARD") is pleased to announce that TOSO Company, Limited (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Masato Yatsushiro; hereinafter, "TOSO") has implemented the sales support service "UPWARD."

Since its establishment in 1949, TOSO has been manufacturing and selling window interior products in Japan, and boasts the top share in the domestic curtain rail market. The company conducts outside sales activities nationwide, primarily targeting interior shops, house makers, and interior construction companies.

The company introduced a sales tool to share sales information, standardize sales processes, and improve visit efficiency. However, the burden of inputting information on a computer after outside sales activities, the failure to establish data entry, the inability to utilize data, and the inability to increase the number of visits became issues.

To address these issues, we decided to replace our existing system with "UPWARD," which is optimized for outside sales and allows intuitive data input via a mobile app. Within just two months of implementation, we have already seen results such as a roughly 60% increase in information input compared to the previous year and a halving of the number of reports submitted after 5:00 PM.

In an industry where information tends to be personalized, we need to standardize operations by proactively introducing tools and centralizing information. In this era of severe labor shortages, we expect that the introduction of UPWARD will lead to the standardization of operations and ultimately improve the retention rate.

Our core business is "domestic, residential, and windows," but the number of households and housing starts in Japan is declining. Therefore, we are considering expanding our business in the medium to long term to the opposite of this, namely "overseas, non-residential, and non-window." To expand our business, we will use "UPWARD" to create a model case for operational efficiency that we are currently working on, and we will flexibly update and expand it.

The most important factor we considered when evaluating implementation was a simple and easy-to-understand UI. If a tool is not intuitive and easy to use for the sales representatives who actually use it, it will not be used in the end, and the implementation will be meaningless. From that perspective, we chose "UPWARD."

By implementing "UPWARD," information input from the field has become established, and it has become easier to understand the content of sales activities. We hope to further grow the company by increasing the amount of activity, analyzing the content of activities, and creating an environment where sales can focus on the activities they should be doing.

Seminar Information

TOSO and UPWARD will hold a free online seminar on October 7th and 15th, 2025, with the theme of "Sales DX that TOSO is Tackling."

Amidst the deepening issues of personalized sales activities, labor shortages, and information sharing in the housing equipment and manufacturing industries, this seminar will feature TOSO, a leading curtain rail company, and introduce DX promotion cases to realize the efficiency and standardization of sales activities.

In addition to discussing the process leading up to implementation, the efforts to establish the system in the field, and the results seen after implementation, we will also discuss with UPWARD how to balance "efficiency through DX" with "the strengths of sales that can only be achieved by people."
